Voice messages in iMessage are enabled by default on iPhone. If you can't see the microphone icon in Messages, it may be hidden or the feature may need to be enabled.
How to enable voice messages in iMessage
Open Settings and tap Messages
Ensure iMessage is turned on
In a conversation, the microphone icon appears to the right of the text field
If you don't see it, tap the text field to bring up the keyboard
The microphone icon should appear when the text field is empty
